Well, week three has been really wet! The heating has gone on at school. I sometimes walk to school and when I walked with a friend in Year 9 this morning we nearly stepped in loads and loads of puddles and every Red Maid we met was covered in scarves and hats. When we got to school everyone in the form room had rosy cheeks and pink noses. Our form room is up three lots of stairs so that may be a reason for the pink cheeks!
I am getting to know people now but its still quite hard work to keep getting to know people, especially the ones not in our class. I am better at knowing my way round the school and I have my planner to help me. Today we went to the wrong science lab but it was ok because we were early so we could sort it out. I suppose all Year 7s round the country feel like this too.
Singing practice was good today. Some people sing much louder than others. It is quite freaky being on the front row. You are being watched from behind. Everyone tries to sit down first so they have enough room.
I made up a joke today. Someone in my class asked me what time it was and I said to them "Time you got a watch!" It was funny at the time!
See you soon.

Well, the first two weeks are over and everyone is starting to settle in more. The teachers are getting better at knowing our names although one girl gets called the wrong name by one teacher all the time and she doesn't want to remind him! I know all the names of the girls in my class now. We usually discuss our favourite bands, favoutite sweets (mine are toxic waste) and what we did at the weekend.
We had a really awesome History lesson today. William Duke of Normandy, Harald Hardrada and Harold Godwinson were the three contestants in our 1066 'Blind Date' to decide who should be king! It was really fun asking them questions. The teacher called himself Cilla de Black. We had the chance to have a really good giggle and learnt a lot as well. At one point the powerpoint didn't work. The teacher was really funny, though, he just said that we had to interrupt this tv programme for a slight technical hitch.
Got to go - PANDAS (Performing and Dramatic Arts School) is on and we are rehearsing a play to show everyone tonight.

My first week has been really busy. We had our first drama lesson today. That was really good because we played lots of drama and we had to think of a noun for ourselves using our initials. The teacher's example was funny. She was a kayaking monkey!
I am spending much more time doing homework and it has been quite a challenge for me to organise myself with the whole locker situation. I find it really hard to undo the lock because you have to turn it three times to the right, then left with the first number, then right to get to the second number and I keep forgetting and turn it three times by mistake. That's ok to do before lunch or something when I have lots of time but its a bit stressful when I have a lesson to go to and there are loads of people around you trying to do the same thing.
I think I've become hungrier because it is longer to wait for lunch than it used to be in the Junior School. We had lunch at 12.20pm then and now we eat around 1 o'clock. Queuing makes you hungrier too but you can chat to your friends while you are waiting so its quite fun. I always go for the cold food except for Fridays when it is fish and chips.
The barbecue on Friday was a bit chilly at first and when it started to rain I ate my burger really quickly so it wouldn't get wet. Our old Junior teachers were there and I said hello to them and my mum spoke to them for a bit. There were some QEH boys playing on the astro turf and some of the girls reactions to them were really funny! I think some of them have crushes!

On the first day I was really nervous walking into Denmark Hall with everybody milling around. I was shown to a table where there was a sheet with my name on it and as I looked down and saw my name I thought...this is me, here I go. I really am a Red Maid now! A sixth former came up to me and I noticed she had really nice turquoise eye shadow on which made her eyes really stand out. As she talked to me she told me that she was my Big Girl's sister so I smiled at her even more.
The first assembly was quite nerve-racking looking back and seeing loads of bigger girls and when everyone stood up to sing the noise of it echoed round the room. The hymn was a sort of welcome back hymn and everyone you looked at was smiling and singing. There were loads of eyes looking at us and it felt quite weird.
Lunch was very tasty. I had salad with tomatoes and cucumber and some French stick bread. Pudding was called Melba sponge and it had a fruity flavour. I sat with four other Year 7s and we talked about all sorts of things. Lunch break is really good because you can choose whatecver you want to do, such as going outside, chat, go into the library or a club like Chatterbox or Netball.
The lessons went really quickly. We had History, PE and English. My favourite thing was doing a murder mystery in history. I had loads of new books and stationery and my bag was really heavy by the end of the day.
We went bowling with our tutor and a sixth former and it was great to relax with everybody and I got half a strike which was really cool.
I went to bed early after all that but I couldn't sleep very well at first because I was so excited. I really couldn't wait for the next day!
